Pigeon Point Lighthouse Pescadero

Pigeon Point Lighthouse, Pescadero opened in 1872 and was considered a major landmark on the hazardous voyage between Monterey Bay and San Francisco, 50 miles south of San Francisco on high way 1. Its 115 foot (35m) tower is one of the tallest on the Pacific Coast in The 2nd tallest on the West Coast. One of the tallest lighthouses in America, has been guiding mariners since 1872. It stills houses its original first order Fresnel lens, comprised of 1,008 prisms, 16 feet tall, 6 feet in diameter, and weighs 8,000 pounds.

I member I went to see Pigeon Point Lighthouse first time in October 27th 2007 that they had light turn on. It was my 2nd time visited this lighthouse to snap fotos of it but the result isn’t that good. It was nice sunny day, not clouds texture in the sky. I may have to come here visit it often. They will not turn on the light again ever since the state does not support this park. Actually, they will remove the Fresnel lens to one of the house in near the Lighthouse next week to display it to the pubic that you can see how large of this Fresnel lens.

About David Yu

Thanks so much for taking time out to visit my personal photography web site!!! I try to get out and photograph the San Francisco bay area street parades, fairs, landscape scenery, and some pageant events as often as I can. The San Francisco bay area has many multi-cultural events all year long and it is a very beautiful city from all aspect!!! Most of the photos are taken in public areas, and if you see yourself in one of my galleries and would like to have your image removed, please contact me and I will take it down immediately. I would like to respect your privacy. A little bit about myself; I am David Yu, a.k.a. Yuman- but my best friends call me "Little Fish" (it is a Chinese thing). :) My passion for photography consumes my weekends and what little free time I have. I am drawn to the rich multi-culture of the Bay Area, and I love to shoot the various parades and street fairs in the city. Over the years there have been some improvements in my work, but I'm inspired by the diverse cultural mix of San Francisco to better my artistic vision. I hope you will enjoy my lucky snap moments, and thanks so much of your visits!!! All Images Copyright © David Yu Photography. All Rights Reserved. Please contact me before use in any publication.
